New Jersey's medical marijuana program would get a sweeping overhaul to make it far easier for patients to qualify and obtain cannabis under a bill that cleared three state legislative committees on Monday.

On Jan. 21, family and friends celebrated the one year “Angelversary” for Jake “The Tank” Honig with a fundraiser at Woody’s restaurant in Howell. Jake Honig passed away at just 7 years old on Jan. 21, 2018, after a five-year battle with brain cancer. Diagnosed at the young age of 2, Jake fought hard to overcome his illness, earning the nickname “the Tank.”

Even the best doctors say they can no longer help Jake Honig. Now his family is asking you to please write to the governor before it's too late. This precious child, who the local police and community have dubbed "Jake the Tank", is  7 years old and has put up quite a fight against the brain cancer he was diagnosed with back when he was 2 years old.

On January 21 2018, Jake Honig passed away peacefully in his bed at the age of seven. His life and his legacy further exposed his home state of New Jersey to the miraculous medical potential of cannabis, And his death forever changed the laws, and the public perception of cannabis.

As a treat for the young boy, the Howell Township Police Department made the 7-year-old an honorary police officer for the day.
